A pristine continent

Antarctica is thawing. Here’s a question: whose is it? It’s a continent with no other humans down there except for a few scientists. When Antarctica thaws we will be left with pristine, treeless landscape, wet and fertile.

I can see the profile of its prior landscape in my mind’s eye. I can see the colors, lush red and purple forests. The seeds have survived through many thaws and refreezes of the continent. They offer herbs and fruit plants the like of which we have no idea. Centuries away.
