And Justice for All…

New York, Thursday, August 12, 2010 by amanda

Good afternoon Cosmic Confidential Diary readers!

I came back with that trusty flashlight to peruse the archives but a light bulb came on to help me out: earlier this week a new Supreme Court justice was sworn in, only the fourth female justice in history. The astrology has been so dynamic and challenging lately, the event passed right by me. However the Hon. Elena Kagan makes her mark on the highest court in the US, one thing is sure: Planet Waves will be watching.

In poking around for something on the theme of justice, I came across Eric’s delineation of the asteroid Astraea, from Next World Stories. This was the fifth asteroid ever discovered, 38 years after Vesta. He writes: “Astraea does not necessarily bestow a sense of right and wrong, but it seems to offer a reasoning process; a sense of balance. Whether someone or something is balanced to your liking is one thing, though you can look to Astraea for what that sense of balance might be, and where it might suspend in the person’s life.”

Eric goes on to describe how Astraea is placed in the charts of two historically important Supreme Court Justices. Hopefully we’ll be able to get a hold of Justice Kagan’s birth data to see how this interesting little orb weaves into the fabric of her life as she faces what are sure to be challenging decisions on the bench. After all, at this point in time, a great deal hangs in the balance.

Wednesday — Audio Ready

New York, Wednesday, August 11, 2010 by Eric Francis

Good morning — your weekly audio is done. I take a look at the repercussions of Monday’s New Moon in Leo (opposite Nessus and Damocles), as well as Mercury warming up to its retrograde.

In the mix, I offer a review of the Aug. 11, 1999 (yes, 1999) total solar eclipse and grand cross in Leo/fixed signs (of which today is the anniversary) — and I reference the Burning Man series of articles, which you can find at this link. In case you’re interested — this is a long read, but a fun one — it’s a glimpse into the world before the Sept. 11 false flag terrorist attacks, before the year 2000, before Bush and Cheney — a look at the direction things were going. Clue — there was some violence in the air.

In this audio I look at the Saturn-Pluto square coming a little later in the month — which happens at the same time (as in the same day) as the Sun opposite the Chiron/Neptune conjunction. The exact date of that is Aug. 21 and we are very much under its influence right now. Thankfully this is the last of Saturn making stressful aspects to outer planets for a while — we have had enough the past 10 years, as Saturn has opposed Pluto (three events), Neptune (three events) and Uranus (five events) in that order, and is now square Pluto for the third and last time. That’s a lot of Saturn aspects in a short time.

Later today, if all goes well, or mostly well, I plan to do the Leo birthday audio and will send out an announcement tomorrow. If there is any call for the Capricorn birthday report, which would be a bit retro but right on time for the Saturn-Pluto square, please say so and I will do that as well.

Also note, we’ve updated the footer to each blog post on the Planet Waves main blog and it now includes three monthly horoscopes for those who aren’t current subscribers or who haven’t read my horoscopes in the past. I write a different kind of horoscope than you may be accustomed to. You’re invited to see for yourself…

Open the Door

New York, Tuesday, August 10, 2010 by amanda

One of the things we’re doing here on the Cosmic Confidential daily blog is selecting horoscopes from the past and letting them see the sunshine. Often I use current astrology to guide my choice of a theme to highlight with these selections, but today I let my mood guide me — admittedly, it was not the most positive or productive mood. As you’ll see, this Leo horoscope from 2000 really answers the call with an attitude check — Eric-style.

Feb. 1, 2000 – Leo – Monthly

A door into your life keeps opening and closing. Or rather, it opens and somebody comes in, and you kick them out and/or close and lock the door. You may not think you’re doing this, but so it goes. Orchestrating, enumerating or dictating reality are just poor methods for preventing others from consciously having a real impact on you, or overwhelming you. Coming up with scores of reasons why you cannot trust, and then, with your responses, making those reasons real, is only keeping you in isolation from what you really want inside. In order to trust, you will have to use your intuition, and remember that trusting is itself an act of trust. But I am here to tell you that that doorbell is about to ring again, there’s very likely to be somebody really there, and the door’s hinges are working and the knob turns. If you don’t use that door, it could be a while before it works so well again.

Navigating the Nessus Nexus

New York, Monday, August 9, 2010 by amanda

We are in the final run-up to a New Moon in Aquarius, so I’ve been keeping one eye on the darkening night sky through my trusty Argus binoculars, the other diligently on a stakeout of the Planet Waves blog. The binoculars aren’t strong enough to get the minor planets into view, but luckily the other blog delivered the goods. According to Len and Eric, tonight’s New Moon is opposite Nessus and Damocles, an interesting pair to be sure, bringing issues of power and past abuse from our shadow material into the bright light of the interrogation room.

Here at the Cosmic Confidential Detective Agency, we’re trained to take a ‘good cop’ approach to these aspects and transits; that is, acknowledge what can be difficult or painful and then find the creative, productive side door to working with the energy. So I thought I’d take a page out of Eric’s book (literally) and see how we might work with Nessus in particular.

In an essay on this centaur planet from Next World Stories, he writes: “Actions have consequences, and once you notice those effects, you can almost always discover the source. Nessus is a very helpful diagnostic tool in handling situations with these themes of betrayal, deception, murder, sexual abuse and sexual infidelity. It works just as well to reveal something about where and how we’ve been hurt in the past, and how we’re likely to hurt others — and how we can heal that pattern and its resulting injuries.”

Now those themes are some heavy ones, but not foreign to anyone serious about their investigation. It’s wise to keep the right tools for the job at hand and know when to call for reinforcements, whoever they may be for you. But note that Nessus doesn’t simply thrust us into the dark — the potential to heal abusive patterns is present. As Eric remarks later in the article, “Nessus can point to information, people and circumstances that help lift the veil.” That sounds like a pretty hot lead to me, so I’ll be keeping my notebook handy for the rest of the stakeout. The information is there, we just need to have faith that we’re up to the task of working with it. After all, it’s already ours.

‘Surfing the wave of synchronicity’

New York, Thursday, August 5, 2010 by amanda

One of the things we’re doing here on the Cosmic Confidential daily blog is selecting horoscopes from the past and letting them see the sunshine. We have a cardinal grand cross this weekend, so here’s a cardinal sign horoscope from 2008.

Sept. 19, 2008 – Cancer – Weekly

Your home is about to become an extraordinarily interesting place, potentially the scene of many encounters of the artistic and/or erotic variety. I suggest, at least, that you guide things in that direction. It’s true, the world may be going mad, there no longer seems to be a difference between truth and deception, and enough people around you have decided that life is a game of Survivor Man to get you wondering. However, your own experience is different; it must be. There seem to be two cosmic games you’re about to dive into. One is exploring the idea that you of all people can only call home that place where you can truly be yourself. Second, if you can thread together the connections between five or six seemingly unrelated events, you’ll discover that you are actually surfing the wave of synchronicity to a whole new state of existence, in a way that you never thought possible.
